Why Modular Matters for Mission-Critical Security
As mission demands evolve and threat environments become more complex, security professionals need facilities that can be deployed quickly, customized to purpose, and trusted under pressure. Government and defense agencies can’t wait months for fixed-site construction when a mission, threat, or relocation demands immediate readiness.
Modular security structures are becoming the preferred solution for hardened facilities worldwide. At CoverSix, we engineer hardened modular buildings that meet federal protection standards and deploy where they’re needed, without compromising performance or security. These conditions may include forward operating bases, naval installations, embassies, training grounds, and classified environments. Whether it’s a guard post, command center, or secure storage facility, every CoverSix structure is built with hardened protection and operational intent. Here’s how we support military, government, and defense-sector clients with mission-ready modular solutions.
Modular Solutions Engineered for Threat-Level Protection
Security infrastructure isn’t one-size-fits-all, especially when lives, missions, and critical assets are on the line. CoverSix modular structures are built to meet specific protection levels for blasts, ballistics, and forced-entry threats, using field-proven engineering and materials rated to national and international standards.
Whether your threat profile calls for NIJ Level III ballistic resistance, blast survivability up to 15 psi, or hardened envelopes for chemical, biological, and explosive containment, CoverSix delivers modular solutions designed to withstand harsh environments and high-risk scenarios.
Blast-Resistant and Ballistic-Resistant Construction
CoverSix structures are built with reinforced steel frames. Depending on needs, projects can be ballistic-rated, blast-rated, and forced-entry-resistant. These assemblies help contain and disperse high-pressure events. Protective features can include:
- Welded steel construction that uses structural joints and attachment methods that are tested and certified for the threat-level.
- Intumescent coatings and fire-rated insulation
- Impact-resistant doors, windows, and hardware
- Ballistic shielding
These modular structures are designed to meet specific operational and environmental needs. Structures can be engineered for repeat exposure to high-threat environments, like observation towers tested against ballistic threats, or control rooms rated for blast pressures encountered during weapons testing.
Built for Government Standards and Federal Compliance
CoverSix facilities can be designed in alignment with most critical federal security standards and military directives, including:
- ICD 705 for SCIF and SAPF compliance
- UFC 4-010-01 for antiterrorism protection
- DoD 5100.76 and AFMAN 31-101 Vol 2 for arms and ammunition storage
- EN 1063 ballistic standards for global embassy protection
- ATFP and ERDC-tested HATS units for overseas deployment
CoverSix integrates compliance early in the design-build process. Each project undergoes multi-phase design reviews, often in collaboration with the customer’s security, MEP, and blast engineering teams. Our modular designs allow for efficient transportation and site installation, while ensuring the structural resilience required for high-risk and classified environments.
Global Projects Supporting US Agencies
Our projects have supported U.S. Air Force bases in Nevada, the U.S. Navy in Djibouti, the Department of Energy in New Mexico, and space programs preparing for orbital launch. From our U.S.-based manufacturing hubs in Wichita, KS and New Iberia, LA, CoverSix designs and builds:
- Guard shacks and access control points
- SCIF and SAPF facilities
- Ammunition and explosive storage magazines
- Modular shooting ranges and observation towers
- Emergency sanctuaries and embassies
- Command and control centers
- Hardened living quarters
- Medical labs and HAZMAT lockers
Each solution is tailored, transportable, and ready for rapid deployment, supporting government clients in CONUS (Continental US) and OCONUS (Outside Continental US) locations alike.
Mission-Proven Performance
Our portfolio reflects a wide range of secure facility needs:
- Ballistic Guard Posts: A panelized 13' x 23' guard post for Los Alamos National Laboratory was engineered offsite to minimize disruption to critical operations.
- Blast-Rated Control Rooms: At a U.S. weapons division, CoverSix designed and delivered multiple hardened control rooms engineered for repeated blast exposure, earning repeat orders from the Navy.
- SCIF Capabilities: For Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, we delivered a 1,600 sq. ft. TEMPEST-rated SCIF facility constructed from five integrated containers that meet ICD 705 standards and support classified operations overseas.
- Embassy Protection: Our HATS (Hardened Alternative Trailer Systems) units, built under license with Diplomatic Security and tested by ERDC, offer layered defense against rockets, mortars, and forced entry. These are now deployed on embassy grounds across Europe.
- Modular Ranges: In El Salvador, we provided a rapid-deploy ARCAS EXT small arms range with three firing lanes and advanced containment technology, enabling in-theater weapons training with minimal downtime.
These are operational assets that support agencies like DoD, DOE, DOS, and DHS.
Modular, Mobile, Mission-Ready
At CoverSix, hardened modular construction is our specialty. We build for real-world use cases, not one-size-fits-all templates. With in-house design-build capabilities, deep experience in federal procurement, and a record of successful global deployments, we help agencies secure the infrastructure that protects personnel, data, and national interests.
